On this one there are memorabilia from my family...the picture in front is my dad when he was a little boy...its very special to me because he died almost 7 years ago. There are also his glasses from the time he was a teenager.
There is a pocketknife from my granddad, very old jewelry from both my grandmothers and the little christmas sheep also from my grandmother...it hardly has any fur left.
The buddha is a lighter from my granddad and at the back there is his royal medal of honor. Also a very thin and small Japanese screen to put around a tea light and the pic in the back is my mom at age 18 reading a book :) The little doll which is hanging at the pic I brought home from a trip to Romania.
The two white stone pipes I used to blow bubbles with them when I was a little girl (a looooooooooooooong time ago ;) )
I moved a lot of times but these are the first things I unpack and put in place...after I've done that I feel at home.
It's wonderful that we create our own little sacred places with items that have meaning to us. I collect things and put them on my kitchen windowsill so I can see them when I am doing dishes. I call it my Windowsill Altar. Your items are so charming and lovely! Thank you for showing us!
